Filipino dentists in KSA help aspiring Filipino dentists in the Kingdom, conduct free dental clinics
Jeddah, 2 September 2019 – Members of the Filipino Dentists in KSA (FDK) met on 23 August 2019 to induct their new set of officers and discuss plans for the future.
FDK renewed its commitment to hold more free dental clinics for male and female wards at the Bahay Kalinga of the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah and the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, as well as for other Filipinos in other parts of the Kingdom. FDK also renewed its commitment to assist aspiring Filipino dentists in obtaining their dental licenses in KSA by helping them review and prepare for the Special Professional Licensure Examinations (SPLE). Jeddah PCG Vice-Consul Alfred Kristoffer Guiang and Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) Welfare Officer Marilyn Jamero attended the event.
Consul General Edgar B. Badajos lauded FDK for its outreach program for the distressed OFWs housed in the male and female shelters of the Consulate in Jeddah and other Filipinos in the Kingdom. “The Filipino values of ‘malasakit’ and ‘pakikipagkapwa’ are evident in the group because of the assistance it continuously provides to aspiring dentists in the Kingdom, through review classes for the special licensure examinations for dentists held in KSA,” he added.
FDK was formally established in 2011. It conducts free dental clinics and capacity-building and skills upgrading programs for Filipino dentists in KSA. -END-
