Philippine Embassy and Consulate officials in KSA welcome first batch of Filipino-Muslim Hajj pilgrims

 Jeddah, 11 July 2019 – Officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh and the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah led by Ambassador Adnan V. Alonto and Consul General Edgar B. Badajos, respectively, welcomed the first batch of Filipino- Muslims who will perform the Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) this year. Some 900 pilgrims on three (3) separate flights arrived in Madinah yesterday, July 10.

Around 6,900 Filipino-Muslim pilgrims have signed up for this year’s Hajj, which is expected to last until 14 August 2019.

To ensure that the pilgrims’ stay in the Kingdom is smooth and orderly, the Embassy and Consulate have deployed teams to ensure that necessary assistance is provided to them, in coordination with representatives from the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF). -END -
