The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah opened its 6 precincts for the national elections at exactly 8:00 o’clock a.m. After some preliminaries including allowing the watchers to check the voting machines once again and reminding them of their duties, the voting promptly began. It was generally peaceful and orderly.
As of the 2nd day of the month-long electoral exercise, a total of 734 persons have cast their ballots. Overseeing the overseas voting in Jeddah, Consul General Edgar Badajos said he expects the number of voters to increase in the days ahead.
