VIGAN CITY: One of the Top 28 in the Search for

New 7 Wonder Cities of the World

The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah is pleased to inform the Filipino community in the Western Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that, according to Vigan City Mayor Eva Marie S. Medina, the city of Vigan, with its rich culture and heritage, has qualified as one of the Top 28 in the search for New 7 Wonder Cities of the World.

The heritage city of Vigan is the lone candidate from the Philippines along with other 27 cities contending for the seven slots.  New7Wonders is both a Foundation and a commercial operation based on a similar structure to other major international events, such as the International Olympic Committee or FIFA, which aims to inspire and create awareness on the beauty of the world and to celebrate seven symbols of unity that respect and honor the cultural diversity of our planet.
