Jeddah PCG officials witness oath-taking of new BOT officers of the world’s largest PH international school
Jeddah, 8 April 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia witnessed on 7 April 2019 the oath-taking of the newly elected Board of Trustees (BOT) officers of the International Philippine School in Jeddah (IPSJ), the largest Philippine international school in the world in terms of population.
In a brief message, Consul General Edgar B. Badajos said that the role of the newly-elected officers is important in maintaining the excellent education IPSJ has consistently provided to the Filipino students in Jeddah since its establishment in 1981. Consul General Badajos said that being elected as BOT officers should be an honor as this means that the Filipino community has entrusted the future of the school and the students to them. He encouraged the new BOT officers to help IPSJ become among the best Philippine international schools in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, if not the whole world.
has over 1,500 students, mostly Filipinos. In 1997, it became a community-run school which follows the prescribed curricula of the Department of Education of the Philippines and the Saudi Ministry of Education. Notable alumni of the school include former Philippine Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ezzedin Tago who is Assistant Secretary at the Department of Foreign Affairs. Senatorial candidate Samira Gutoc also graduated from IPSJ. -END-
