Public Advisory no. 2016-21

The Philippine Consulate General would like to inform our Kabayans that voting time will be extended until 8:00 p.m. starting 01 May until 08 May 2016 in consideration of those whose available time to vote is only after 5:00 p.m.

The release of voters ID will only be up to 5:00 p.m. The voter's ID is not a requirement to vote. A copy of the passport, any valid ID with photo and signature of Iqama will be accepted for verification purposes.

Our Kabayans are also reminded that on the last day of voting, 09 May 2016, voting will only be up to 12:00 noon, synchronized with the closing of elections in the Philippines (5:00 p.m.).

Further, registered voters of other Philippine Consulates and Embassies (Riyadh, Al Khobar, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi etc.) who are now here in Jeddah are urged to manifest their intention to vote here as soon as possible so that the proper authorization from the COMELEC can be secured before the end of the voting period.

Campaigning inside the Consulate as polling place is strictly prohibited. This includes distributions of leaflets, verbally urging voters to vote for a certain candidate and wearing clothes, wristbands, bandanas and other materials in support of a candidate. Voters are also reminded to wear decent attire when voting. Slippers and shorts will only be allowed on Fridays, Saturdays and Holidays.
