Public Advisory No. 05-2016

The Philippine Consulate General would like to inform the public that accredited members of the mass media will be given free access to polling places, voting centers, and canvassing centers and authorized field voting centers for purposes of observing and reporting on election events and processes per COMELEC Resolution no. 100037 dated 13 January 2016.

Local media, international media, media representatives and other media who are interested to be accredited by COMELEC must submit the following:

  1. A fully accomplished Accreditation Application Form, which may be downloaded from the COMELEC website at http://www.comelec.gov.ph and DFA website at http://dfa-oavs.gov.ph. The form is also available at the 3rd Floor of the Consulate General;
  2. Two (2) recently taken 2”x2” colored photographs; and
  3. An endorsement from the newspaper, television, radio station, or internet news agency employing the applicant.

Accreditation for freelancers must be requested by a professionally recognized organization where he/she is on assignment.

Applications for accreditation shall be filed at the 3rd Floor of the Consulate General in Jeddah.

The non-extendible period for filing applications for accreditation shall be from 01 February 2016 to 31 March 2016. Applications filed after the last day for filing shall not be entertained.
