The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah held its first-ever Family Health Day on 27 October 2011 at the Community Hall of the Consulate General for its officers, staff and their dependents.
The activity was organized by the Spouses and Dependents Association of Philcongen under the leadership of Madame Omega A. Garibay, wife of Consul General Uriel Norman R. Garibay in cooperation with the Philippine Nurses Association in Jeddah.
The highlights of the activity were: vaccination against Meningitis spearhead by Ms. Juliet Roa, lectures on Basic Life Support, first Aid and Breast Cancer Awareness conducted by the Philippine Nurses Association in Jeddah, film-showing and family-bonding activities for children and adults.
The officers, staff and dependents of the Consulate General showed their support for this activity with their unprecedented attendance and show of enthusiasm. The dependents of the Consulate officers and staff are looking forward to more activities like this in the future not only to strengthen their camaraderie, but also be given the opportunity to acquire more knowledge and learn new skills.
For his part, Consul General Garibay extended his gratitude to the organizers and volunteers who made this activity possible. He likewise assured the Spouses and Dependents Association of Philcongen of his support in their future endeavors.
